This 20" long serpent-bird was derived from the knotwork art in the Irish Book of Kells.

It's dog-like face is a mask made with trapunto quilting methods as a separate piece which is sewn to the body.

Easier to make than the original dragon, it features painted eyes and claws, wired tongue, cloth teeth and 36" wired tail to bend in any shape you wish.
