With Spring comes nesting time. The birds are busy looking for that special place to build their nests and lay their eggs. The Gatherer is providing a safe haven for the birds - with the nest that is her hat and her open arms that welcome them to the skirt/cage that protects but doesn't confine. The Gatherer, taught by NIADA Artist CINDEE MOYER, eyes the sky to welcome them.

Standing a little over 20" tall, her body is made of fabric with a soft-sculpted face that is skinned. her hands re wired giving them the ability to gracefully hold each paper clay bird. The skirt is created with wire.
