This beautiful mixed media piece was inspired by Paul McCartney's song Blackbird. It was created in 2008 by CINDEE MOYER, a few months after she lost one of her grandchildren to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. This piece reminded her to ‘fly’ even though she felt her wings had been broken.

This tutorial takes you through creating the doll, sculpting the blackbird and creating a mixed media box for her to sit in.

The doll is 12" tall, seated. Finished, the piece measures 9” x 17” x 5”
