Designed by KATE ERBACH, Merna combines the use of quilting, beading and traditional dollmaking techniques. By incorporating the quilting and beading you can give your doll that special oomph to make her unique. Face techniques cover the area of caricature, slightly different than the usual doll face. Learn to let go when drawing your face!
Such a beautiful mermaid needs something better then the usual conch shell to sit on so the class includes the colorful fish Merna is test driving! Merna's fish uses a special gusset at the bottom in order to place and stuff your fish without any of those pesky side openings. The instructions are full of details and include step by step color photos so that every level doll maker can easily complete the doll and fish along with the stand.
Merna and her fish sit about 24" high when complete. Yes, it's a big project. The fish alone would make a wonderful addition to a bathroom with a seaside theme. Or as a gift to that special angler in your life.
